Happy Second Birthday JB!

Time flies when you're having fun. JB is already 2 years old! We had her birthday party at a local park. We wanted to have a Word World party, but couldn't find any Word World stuff and the bakery didn't make any Word World cakes (and I'm not a fan of those fondant screen prints - which they offered to do), so we went with her other favorite...Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. All the kids had little cardboard ears to wear, but The Big Guy bought these super cute plush Minnie ears for JB. She wore them until they hurt her head, then traded them for a cardboard pair.

Our table was pretty close to the kids play area at the park, and when we first arrived, JB wanted to swing and slide - so I let her and then while I was putting out the tablecloths and goody bags her Aunt Nik took her and let her play some more. It made me a little nervous that she wouldn't want to be at the tables at all, but once I put out the bubble wands and solution she didn't give the playground a second glance.

We had a pretty big crowd - JB is fortunate to be loved by so many! I got a nice chance to socialize with everyone, and I think The Big Guy did too. We still have not perfected the art of moving the party along quickly enough - and some guests had to leave before the gift opening which was a bummer. We squished the cake in as they were telling us they needed to leave, so I think everyone got cake. We succeeded in only purchasing one cake this year - a really cute beach scene with Mickey surfing while Minnie was on a beach towel on the shore. Unfortunately The Big Guy decided to pick up the cake as his first stop, and when the buttercream got warm, the top layer slid off the bottom layer. He and his mom used forks to return the top layer to is proper place, but the side of the cake was pretty trashed. Oh well! It was still tasty :)

To say that JB had a great day would in my opinion be an understatement. She has been worn out for 2 days! I think that the party was definitely a success.

The Big Guy's birthday was on June 3rd, so it's been a cake and fun filled few days! Now we're off for more fun at the Magic Kingdom!
