No one mourns the Wicked

Mom and I ventured to San Francisco yesterday to see Wicked. Loved it! I really hadn't heard anything about the story so I didn't have any expectations going in. I was suprised by the story. If you want to go see it, let me know - I'd love to see it again. I'm a little bummed that I didn't buy a shirt, so if I go again it's the first thing I'll do.

If you know me, you know that I don't normally drive to places I haven't been to many times before. This means I do not drive to the city. Ever. Period. End of story. So when my co-worked posted a flier advertising 2 tickets to see the play in the mail room, I wanted to pounce and buy them, but wasn't sure how I would get there. I was really hoping that we could take BART. I can drive us to the BART station, that's pretty easy. I figured we would just take a taxi if there station wasn't near the theaetr. Guess what? The station is less than 1/2 block from the theater! No more worries about having to get someone to drive me to see plays! Guess who is going to see MORE PLAYS!!!! Me!

Of course the day wasn't without some adventure....I knew we needed to be on the blue route for the trip to and from the theater. In my mind this means that one should get on the train with the BLUE stripe. Logical yes? ::::Ahem:::: Would you believe that ALL the BART trains have blue stripes? It must have something to do with the fact that their logo is blue..... I hopped on not one but 2 wrong trains. Luckily mom figured out that we needed to get off the first wrong train before it left the station. The second time we were not quite so lucky. We wound up about 3 stations too far north - and one station past the last transfer station. ::::SIGH:::: Oh well. It was an adventure, right? This meant a total of 30 extra minutes spent waiting in 2 different stations for the correct trains. One of the 15 minute spans was in 45 degrees, with freezing cold gusts. Bbbbrrrrrr!!! Lesson learned. I will pay more attention to the signs and maybe even get myself a BART map in the futurel.

I would love to be close to somewhere where I could go and see plays on a regular basis. I'm going to Las Vegas tomorrow! and I'm seeing three shows. I can't wait!
