I'm baaack....

JB on Christmas Day. She is so into accessorizing....must be some sort of throwback gene. See how she has to scrunch her face up to keep those glasses from slipping down off her nose? Recently she figured out that when she wears them upside down they stay on, no face scrunching required.

Wow! A whole month without access to the internet and I'm still alive! Phew....I'll admit it was close a few times. Not only no internet, but no television. It would seem that we moved into a log cabin on a mountain somewhere rather than a home in town. We watched The Big Guy's collection of "The Dukes of Hazzard" dvd's. He must have the entire series on dvd.....

I've moved back to what I more or less consider my home town. It's the town I attended high school in. We actually lived in the boonies - between 3 small towns and there happened to be a teeny little school on the road I lived on which I attended 6-8th grades in with my 6 other classmates. Before that I went to elementary school in one of those small towns in a larger school - but one that wouldn't be considered truly large by anyone's estimation. Being back home is awesome! A good bit of the awesomeness is that I now live about 10 minutes from my parents rather than 30 minutes. This is hopefully going to mean that I get to spend more time working with my horse this spring and summer - as well as being able to take JB over for more visits with Nana and Papa :)

JB's vocabulary improves so quickly, I often don't even know where she picks up new words. The other day she was insistently demanding a "nonnie". I've never heard her say that word before - we were at her Grammy's house and Grammy didn't know what she wanted either. She kept throwing herself toward one of the kitchen counters - upon which rested a bunch of bananas so I wondered if that was a "nonnie" it turns out BINGO! Nonnie = banana. I find that sort of strange because earlier the week before it was a "nana". :::::shrugs::::

She grew so much that the nurse at her pediatrician's office measured her twice. She took all the usual information and measurements and headed out only to come back in five minutes later to remeasure her. Apparently she grew a lot since her last visit. If I were a good mommy who knew where all those damn slips of paper with Elmo stickers and measurements on them that they hand me everytime we visit were I could tell you just how much she grew.....but you know.

Two of my best gal pals are due to deliver babies in about a month! I'm excited!! One first child, one second child. The one who is the second child is actually due one day before her sister's birthday...talk about timing!

If you're reading this I hope 2009 has been treating you well. Happy Valentine's Day in advance!
